When to let go by Jeff Brown

I distinguish between those situations where there is still work to be done in a relationship and those where the work has come to an end. All too often, we remain locked into connections that no longer serve us. And, all too often, we let go of connections before our work together is completed. We have to decide – is this relationship a laboratory for my own expansion, or a prison of my own making? Does it invite growth, or induce sleep? Can we find a way to become conscious together, or are we better off apart? This is the (he)art form of relatedness – knowing when to dive in deeper, knowing when to step away. Once we perfect this art, we can grow forward in our relational life.
