Expanding Beyond Fear

This week I discovered that I have bands of protection around my heart.  If someone had told me that before I discovered it, I would have said……..no way!  Uhhuh…….don’t think so……can’t be. I do my work.  I have already taken care of any supposed ‘protective bands.’   I am open; I am vulnerable……I would say to myself.   And then…there they were……beautiful protective bands doing their job with steel commitment….gleaming in the light that shone upon them………keeping my heart safe.

I am deeply grateful to these bands of safety.  They were there for as long as protection was needed. And these bands that wound around my heart were not going to abandon me as long as I needed protection.   And as it turned out, I really did need them.

There were concealed wounds and fear that needed to be hidden from the penetrating invitation that is always pulsing from the energy of higher love.  And now the universe had initiated the clarion call to healing.  I was being called to love more deeply.  That is such a good thing.  And then there is the huge challenge  in being called to love in a way that one has never loved.   It is unknown territory. Self-Compassion

Some days we just wake up and don’t feel very good.  There is a certain anxiety in the air and it is vibrating through the cells of our bodies.  We can’t put our finger on the source; the uneasy feeling kind of feeling swirls all around us.  We might be a little edgy with those around us……quick to jump to conclusions…..a tad sharp in our responses.  We know it is happening but we seem to be caught up in the flow of it.

If we allow ourselves to just sit quietly for a moment…taking a deep breath in and then releasing it….and then again and again……recognition of a type of thinking begins to surface from the depths.  We are talking down to ourselves internally.  We did something wrong…….we should have done something differently……we should have known…….why didn’t we?……if only……..what if?……..all these statements direct us to a degree of fear that is resonating within us.

Spending time intellectualizing each statement and rationalizing the answers will not bring us peace in our hearts.  We just need to bring the energy of compassion to ourselves.   Compassion is the vibration of understanding without conditions, loving what is, allowing whatever to just be.  We need to remember that compassion is an energy that is always available to us.  All we have to do is to direct our awareness to it and it is us instantaneously.  We swim in the loving energy, letting it permeate all cells of ourselves.

The ego hops in and wants to fix it but that is a temporary fix.  If we struggle holding onto the high vibration of compassionate energy, we visualize Mother Mary, Kwan Yin, Isis, Shakti, in all their nurturing beauty of openness and allowance.  We see them in their total embrace of everything…….everything…..including us with warts and all…… as complete and total loving understanding.  The compassionate energy instantly vaporizes the fear.

We are left with quiet mind; the desire to figure it all out has disappeared.  We only know peace and love in our hearts.  We can feel that all truly is well.  We don’t have to know the hows and whys of it all…it just is.  As we practice…..we remember to bring our awareness to the beautiful vibration of compassion surrounding and permeating us more often.  The practice becomes a habit in evermore present moments as we realize a loving heart is always with us.  That heart is our heart.  We can live there.

The Universal Family

Evolving maturity…….is that what we are?  A flicker of a light growing in intensity over the many lives, many moments of learning our lessons of being love.  The tiny speck of luminescence that draws to it the potential of teachings that when commitment and courage are present, slowly or spontaneously grow until it transforms and explodes  into blinding light.

Are we evolving through and past our families of origin and growing into the awareness of Home?…..the birthplace of our Universal Family.  As we heal our wounded selves and begin to recognize the peacefulness in our hearts as that for which we have been searching all our lives, we see that all people and things are our Family.  We move past the need to have others fulfill us.  We have learned to be the nurturer and protector of ourselves.  We revel in the joy of connection; now we no longer carry expectations for others to make us whole.  We are whole.  We have integrated the mother/father aspects of our teachers into our hearts.  And for that process we have deep gratitude.

We may ask ourselves…….in this moment who is our Higher Power…where are we focusing our attention…….is it still other people, conditions, and things?  If the answer moves beyond our earthly teachers, we no longer project our beliefs and demands about our parents onto God (or whatever concept works….).  God will not abandon us, God will not judge us as lacking.  God is trust.  God is free to be.   God is walking among us; God is resting quietly as the rock on the shore, flying high as the eagle riding the thermals, working the cash register at the nearby grocery store; loving in friends next door and far across the world, lying deep inside the greediest corporation, pulsing at the core of corrupt political systems, always present, always available to be known, never needing to be.

We are like the lighthouse on the shore…….continually cleaning our windows so that our light may shine through……allowing us to join  with the myriad of other diamond lights shining brightly……exponentially increasing our power of transformation.   We are family.

“You Are Desperately Needed”

This message was forwarded to me and reminds us that we are not powerless when events occur like the oil spill, the economy, Gaza, Dafur, Haiti, and all the rest.  We are called to focus our energies on healing, not on thinking we are helpless.

Messages from the Grandmothers
and Chief Looking Horse

Several years ago we gave you the Net of Light so you would be able to  help the earth at times like this. Step forward now. This is the Net of Light that will hold the earth during the times of change that are upon you,” they said.

“First move into your heart and call on us. We will meet you there.  The Net of Light is lit by the jewel of your heart,” they said, “so move into this lighted place within you and open to the Net of which you are a part.  Bask in its calming presence.   It holds you at the same time that you hold it.

“Now think of magnifying your union with us. We, the Great Council of the Grandmothers, are with you now, and all those who work with the Net of Light are also with you. There are thousands, even millions now connected in light,” they said.   “Along with this union, call forth the power of the sacred places on earth.  These will amplify the potency of our joint effort.  Then call on the sacred beings that have come to prevent the catastrophe that threatens to overwhelm your planet.   We will work together,” they said, nodding slowly.

“Think of, cast and magnify the presence of the Net of Light in the Gulf of Mexico. See, imagine or think of it holding the waters, holding the land, the plants, the sea life, and the people. Holding them all!”  they said. “The Net of Light is holding them steady; it is returning them to balance. Let the love within your lighted heart keep pouring into the Net of Light and hold, hold, hold.

Calmly and reverently watch as the light from your heart flows along the strands of the Net.  It will follow your command and continuously move forth. As soon as you think of it,  it will happen. We ask you to practice this for only a few minutes at a time, but to repeat it throughout the day and night. “We promise that this work with the Net of Light will do untold good,”  the Grandmothers said.   “We are calling you to service now.  You are needed.  Do not miss this opportunity. We thank you and bless you.”

Breaking the Pattern of Sisyphus: How to Let Go of Negative Patterns

Author and motivational speaker

We all have habitual, negative thinking, feeling and doing patterns that sabotage our success, happiness and well-being. They become so ingrained that we think we have no power to change them. They simply become part of our daily life.

Being passionate about Greek mythology and archetypes, I thought of how the myth of Sisyphus might relate to our lives. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the myth, let me tell you about it.

Sisyphus — a crafty and arrogant man — was condemned by Zeus for his bad deeds to roll a rock up a hill, only to have it roll right back down before he could get it to the top. He would have to repeat this task day after day for eternity — a punishment you might not wish on your worst enemy, unless perhaps he was an ex-husband, wife or lover who left you for your best friend.
